Happy to See a Cowbird?

Friday morning I had the pleasure to shoot close to 250 pictures in my backyard, after having a lot of rain for a while, dried up and lots of birds were lining up to get to the feeders. I simply set up my camera and waited for birds to come for their meals. They weren’t shy at all, they were all over the backyard, specially the deck trying to get their share of seeds. I had the visit of a male Brown-headed Cowbird, bird that is featured in today’s post. The presence of this birds tells me that Spring is here and soon the rest of Blackbirds will be in town!

To think that I was happy to see this bird is weird because the Cowbirds are like a pest and they devour all the seeds in no time!…

This tells you how much I missed Spring! 🙂

  1. We are getting a blizzard right now here in Michigan. I have had a huge flock of red-winged black birds devouring my bird food, but I am leaving them be, I figure they have to eat, too, and they are a sign that spring WILL come to Michigan sooner or later. (Although it looks like it will be LATER. LOL)

    • All I do is advise my friends to hang on a little bit longer and then you can laugh at winter! Thanks for sharing Amy! 🙂
