That’s Good!

This morning I went out to do my early chorus of refilling all feeders, washed the bottle of nectar and filled it for the hummers. I felt immediately that the temperature wasn’t very hot but slightly warm, the morning dew gets the grass wet but it didn’t rain last night. The opportunity presented for setting my camera and shoot some pictures. My bet is that birds must have felt the same way I did. I saw the come to the feeders steadily and without any conflict or fights.

Here is the list of birds I saw:

  • Mourning Dove
  • Northern Cardinal (M) & (F)
  • Northern Mockingbird (J)
  • Carolina Chickadee
  • Field Sparrow
  • House Sparrow (M)(J)
  • Song Sparrow
  • Brown-headed Nuthatch
  • American Goldfinch (M) & (F)
  • American Crow
  • Ruby-throated Hummingbird (M) & (F)

Surprisingly there were no Blackbirds of any kind. My big feeder was almost 3/4 filled! That’s good!

  1. Lovely array of visitors!. Currently, the Northern Cardinal dad is feeding their baby/juvenile in my garden. I enjoy most of these delightful feeder visitors at home along the Eastern Phoebe, who feeds exclusively on flying insects. There is the occasional Grackle invasion, but the tiny yet valiant Chickaree (American Red Squirrel) keeps the large visiting flocks at bay 😉
