Seeds
Lately, the variety of bird species coming to my backyard has diminish but still are large in number. The consumption of seeds is still high mostly because of the Mourning Doves.
They are many and they eat with voracity.
The humid weather still persists and the temperature has dropped to the high 80s.
My beautiful Hummingbirds are still around, I figure they are 5 but I’ve seen only 3 at once.
Most of the remaining visitors have already completed their molting and are looking fine, just on a different shade of colors (Non-breeding period)
For you my friends that have feeders, the price of seed has gone up considerably if you haven’t noticed.

It’s so true! Paying your models costs more and more. I’m looking forward to the annual local Audubon chapter birdseed sale. I can stock up at least for most of the winter at a reasonable price…

Great photos! Yeah I did notice the price of seed go up. I think it’s due to the recent drought in the US.
I think you’re absolutely right, I imagine that seeds come from many agricultural States that are under a drought. Good one! Thanks a lot! 🙂
