Magical Moment
Now that the avian residents of my backyard has decreased in numbers. It gives me a good opportunity to shoot more photos of my little friends the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds.
I can’t get enough of them, these birds are fantastic creatures and very playful I’ve noticed. They are playful at time to go to the feeder, they chase each other and do pirouettes in the air, they spread their tail feathers like a fan and hover around each other.
A few days ago I went out to refill the nectar juice to their feeder and one of them was hovering around my head about one foot distance! I was surprised to see it so close in front of my face looking at me. It was a magical moment!
Reminded me of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell. 🙂

How delightful!
Thank you Julie! 🙂
They really are magical! Keep up the great work with that feeder!
Thanks Annie! Yes I will! 🙂
Great pictures! I especially like the one with its little tongue hanging out in anticipation of the treat.
Thank you Lisa! I like them so much! 🙂
Nice photos! They move so fast it’s got to be hard to shoot. You got every feather!
Thank you! They very fast and very beautiful! 🙂
Great pictures
Thank you Tom! I’m glad that you like them. 🙂
As long as they’re visiting keep shooting and sharing, HJ! I love them all but the tail-spread on that last photo is awesome! 🙂
I have several hundreds of shots and one movie. I’ll keep shooting because I don’t know if they will ever come back again. Of course I will share with my friends! 🙂
