Boat-tailed Grackle
I had the opportunity to go near the coast of Georgia and I shot some pictures.
They are about a common bird that has made a great home out of the marshes and pam trees from the Georgia shores.
The Boat-tailed Grackles in those areas are very numerous and have ventured within the urban areas also.
Here are 5 pictures for today’s blog.

Oh what beautiful birds Av! Never saw this kind before. Such a difference in the male and female species. Great shots. Hope you had an enjoyable Easter weekend.
Thanks D.! I had a great holiday! 🙂
Thank you for posting these. I think naming them ‘Grackle’ was the perfect marriage between a name and a species. They couldn’t be anything other than ‘Grackles’!
Thank you for your comment Lance, I know what you mean, but Ornithology has a “thing” with naming birds species. Some make no sense at all.It isn’t easy to identify birds for sure! 🙂
Great shots! They have quite the tail. Beautiful.
Thank you BD for you nice comment! 🙂
Great set of photos! I can never seem to get them when they’re resting/still. I think I may have taken a photo of this bird yesterday. You know me and their names… :)I only know a few when I see them. But I am sure you will impart your knowledge. 🙂
Thank you for your comment! One thing about shooting pictures of birds, you need to keep calm, get your camera ready, anticipate the birds action and have a steady hand. Try to be inconspicuous! 🙂
I’m glad I found your blog. I hope to become a better photographer of birds and nature.
Thank you for your visit and your comment! 🙂
