Northern Cardinal

Northern Cardinals have been a permanent fixture in my backyard since I moved to my new house six years ago. I now they keep their nests in a row of pines along the creek, these pines must be approximately 25 ft. high and fairly close together, making the perfect setting for their nests. I don’t bother looking for them I rather see them flying or feeding. These birds are very beautiful with a striking appearance, bright colors and the black mask.

I know about their popularity and I understand very well why, I described it previously.

Here are two samples that merit my description.  Make sure you click the image for a larger version!

  1. I love the cardinal, so striking no matter what they’re doing or where they’re flying. Very nice captures and so wonderful you have them in your backyard to watch and photograph! They aren’t much for being around the water but I see them when driving to and around at work, can’t miss ’em! 🙂

  2. I love cardinals – they’re the NC State bird so that’s exciting as well. They just brighten up the trees in winter.
