Photo Files and more…

Lucy is at home with a bout of what seems to be flu, I have time to continue looking at my photo files. Since we’re not going out I an sit and pick some photos to post on the blog.

It’s amazing how quickly any photographer can amass a tremendous amount of photos. This reminded me of a couple of articles I read years ago.

The first one was that National Geographic magazine sent a staff photographer on assignment to Africa, they needed approximately 5 photographs I believe it was, the subject were elephants of certain area in Africa, he shot over 10,000 slides but they published only 5 (five)! This blew my mind!

The second, also years ago when I used to develop my own photographs in my darkroom. A famous B&W photographer (I do not want to use his name) passed away and a curator for his estate was named since his art was very valuable. In his home they found among many many photo prints and an a vast archive of negatives, and boxes containing close to 5000 (five thousand) rolls of film that remained undeveloped! Wow! Can you believe that?

Here are some other picks from my files:

Northern Cardinal (M)

House Finch (M)

Common Grackle (M)
