Cotingas and Manakins – Book Review

Cotingas and Manakins
By : Guy M. Kirwan & Graeme Green

“I was thrilled to read this book because is about birds which their names were familiar. I was able to see some while I was in the Peruvian Andes as well as the Amazon area years ago. This book is exceptional. It has an incredible amount of information on birds that are very difficult to find and much less photograph. However, Mr. Kirwan and Mr.Green bring you vast information about their habitats, location maps. Also identifications, descriptions. distributions and status.

Let’s not forget the wonderful color illustrations and terrific plates that as a photographer of birds myself, make me feel  a bit of envy. This book is definitely a “must have” because these birds are among the rarest Neo-tropic species, which by the way, they hardly been studied, by reason of their remote habitats located in difficult geographic terrains, which are also as unknown as the  species are.”

I recommend this book for your Bird Library!
