Brown Thrasher

It was a while since I saw a Brown Thrasher in my backyard, being Georgia State bird you’d think are all over but the truth is that I hardly see them around. They walk around near the creek and places where there is muddy grounds. With their large beaks they poke the ground and extract worms, grubs etc. They are very good finding them. I imagine that thrashers must have a great sense of hearing since the grubs are underground. Also, their bills must be very strong to easily dig holes in the ground and resist an impact if they hit a rock hidden beneath dirt.
