Heavy air traffic

Today I have to dig a hole to plant a beautiful Crepe Myrtle (Purple flowers) Our friends got it from a place near Valdosta, Ga. it’s guaranteed japanese beetlle-free. I love those trees when they blossom in the summer. We’ll try this one to see how it goes.

There’s almost no activity at the feeders lately, when the sun is down and almost dark I see large groups of birds flying by, sometimes they land in my backyard but they stay for a couple of minutes and then fly away. I was reading about the fact that most migratory birds do that at night in very large groups. I’ve seen many groups but I haven’t been lucky to have a camera ready to shot any pictures. Just yesterday evening I was outside with my wife looking at our plants and I hear some honking calls it the distance and we saw a large group of Canada Geese flying not very high but far from us.

I have some shots of N. Cardinals that have nests on the pines nearby.
