I’m back!!!
Hello folks, I apologize for the long break I’ve taken from my blog. My life makes changes and turns that are definitely an unavoidable distraction.
But here I am! 🙂
My backyard is still showing a number of birds that most the times are just passing by, I have seen them but did not have my camera on hand for a shot.
One thing I see is that most species are in “full garb” all looking at their best in color, plumage and grace.
I should be getting a new camera soon and will try to get better shots of my backyard visitors!
By the way I also have a message from my friend Jessica from Princeton University Press.
I just posted this on our blog, but I thought you might be interested in seeing our new birds & natural history catalog:http://press.princeton.edu/blog/2010/10/13/pgs-catalog-birds-natural-history/
This should give you a good idea of what books are forthcoming for the Spring. Some highlights are The Atlas of Birds by Mike Unwin, Hawks at a Distance by Jerry Liguori, and Avian Architecture by Peter Goodfellow, but there are other great books on the list. If you would like to put in early requests for any of these titles, drop me a line and I’ll make a note to send you a copy as they become available.
This week we are also conducting a bird book giveaway on our facebook page. Up for grabs this week is Hawks from Every Angle (also by Jerry Liguori). It is probably the best ID book for raptors in flight. You can learn more about the book and giveaway here: http://press.princeton.edu/blog/2010/10/11/this-weeks-book-giveaway-10/.
Also, I am assembling the review copy mailing for the second edition of Birds of the Middle East by Richard Porter & Simon Aspinall. If you would like a copy this month, let me know.
Thank you for reading,
Best,
