Do you know where your kids are?

It’s funny to see a bunch playing tag around the backyard, especially the N. Mockingbirds. They’re all over the place! 🙂

I’ve observed that the older or let’s say… the mature Mockingbirds stand guard on top of a tree or any high point while the young or immature are strolling, pecking for bugs, worms, grubs, etc. But I’ve noticed that they open their wings and flash the white broad bars making them very noticeable in the high grass. In other words, the parents must know where their little ones are at all times. Good strategy!

I got some photos of what I’ve just observed: Isn’t it cool?
