This’n that!

These few days have been busy for me for several important reasons and I should add because it was very hot for me and apparently for the birds also because I didn’t see many until when is almost night and hard to shot pictures with long lenses.

During the day all I see are blackbirds mostly, I believe that they are the most resistant to bear heat.

I see an abundance of female cowbirds, young and mature that goes for Northern Cardinals also. All the nests are empty now. The Carolina Chickadees are gone already, parents and their brood.

Group of Cowbirds.

Once in a while I see Northern Mockingbirds, Crows, Indigos and Mourning Doves. One day I was sitting with my wife on our deck taking a bit of the soothing breeze when a Cooper’s Hawk flew pass over her head by about 4 or 5 feet. I think he was targeting some pray and ignored our presence. My wife couldn’t believe the gall of this bird. 🙂

What do you want? He’s hungry and has to eat! Gee!
