The Northern Flicker is back!
I’m happy that the Northern Flicker that visited my yard a few days ago has returned and gave me a chance to photograph him again.
This bird is large and has a powerful beak, he pocks the ground for insects or worms. I have noticed that it can walk very fast and has a peculiar way to do it very close to the ground so it would get hidden by the grass. Smart fellow. So far from what I’ve observed this bird minds his own business comes and goes without confrontations, intimidations or any other kind of bad behavior.
