Chickadee activity!

I’m very glad to see a lot of activity around my backyard! I’ve seen the Carolina Chickadee’s couples visiting some of the bird houses and starting to nest. I’ve also seen a couple of Eastern Bluebirds trying to get in those nests, of course they were chased away by the angry Chickadees. Cool! 🙂

Weather is nice and comfortable but very windy at moments, making things on the deck fly and tumble. Not too bad though compared to gray rainy days. Yesterday I bought a new weed-wacker and I spent some time trimming some of the weeds.

  1. I enjoyed you photos of the Carolina Chickadee. Are these all your bird houses, do you build them? The Carolina Chickadee appear to be a bit larger than the Black Capped chickadee in my area (Washington state). I recently had a wonderful experience with the chickadee’s on my deck, you can see the pictures on my blog if you so desire. It appears you also took the picture that is your header, love the intense color. I think I am going to spend a bit of time enjoying your blog…so many pictures to look at…Thank you!

    • Hello Julie,
Thank you very much for your comments. You’re also right when you say there’re differences between same specie of birds but from the Eastern or Western parts of USA. I speculate that different environment, dietary habits, plant seeds, insects etc. have propitiated certain changes in their physical appearance through time.
I’m going to take a look at your blog also. You’re welcome to see mine anytime. It was made for people like you.
