House Finch, sp. name “Carpodacus Mexicanus”

Description:

House finches are small size finches with fairly long beaks and kind of flat heads, short wings and have shallow notch on tail.

Males are rosy red around the face and upper breast. Streaky brown back, belly and tail.

Females are plain grayish-brown with thick streaks and definite markings on face.

Their habitat: They frequent parks, urban centers, forest edges. They are almost in every feeder everywhere, they are very gregarious birds.

Our feeders always have some finches one time or another! 🙂
