My husband and I have been thinking about a similar trip. When is the best time of year to photograph shore birds in Florida? It’s so far away, we won’t get to return for a long time. I don’t want to pick a bad time of year!
Florida has a tropical climate as you know, the birds from the north migrate south naturally. One of the preferred locations to enjoy a warmer climate is Florida although many birds continue their migration to Central and South America. I would say that by Mid November a great amount of birds have move to the warmer areas. Once in Florida, I personally prefer the West Coast, from Tampa all the way to Naples and the Everglades.
